The Wow Company is a prominent UK accountancy firm that specialises in supporting agencies, consultancies and technology businesses with over £1m turnover. They engaged us to migrate a highly unwieldy Insightly CRM to HubSpot. Their legacy data was poorly structured and contained significant duplicate and erroneous entries, causing daily frustration and costing the company valuable time and money.
The challenge
The client had already made the move to HubSpot, but had been struggling to migrate their legacy data from Insightly into HubSpot.
What we delivered
Central to the project was a customised node.js application to act as a migration and cleansing engine. Standard marketplace sync tools were unsuitable due to the high volume of data duplication, errors and customisation in the client's original Insightly CRM.
Working closely with WOW, we:
- Consulted with all key stakeholders to map data flows and define business requirements.
- Architected and configured a new, optimised data model in HubSpot.
- Built a customised node.js application to cleanse, validate, and transform all data during migration.
- Enabled flexible data ingestion via Google Sheets from Insightly reports.
- Provided hands-on training for key stakeholders on the new system.
- Implemented a parallel sync to allow for a phased, zero-downtime rollout.
